Rawlings Akamanya

Rawlings leads activities associated with the Hilton Water Quality Testing Fellowship Program in Uganda to inform better decision-making for drinking water supply. As a program officer, his duties include: overseeing water quality data collection and analysis, ensuring that data quality is assured and controlled, working with Makerere University to develop local capacity in water quality testing, and engaging local governments and ministries on dissemination of results. 

Prior to joining Aquaya, Rawlings worked as an engineer and program support lead at Acts for Water, a Canadian water, sanitation, and hygiene implementing organization in southwestern Uganda. His scope of work ranged from designing gravity flow schemes to serving on the senior leadership team to offering strategic direction, program design, and management, including monitoring and evaluation. 

Rawlings is currently pursuing an MSc in water management for development at the Water Engineering and Development Centre (WEDC), Loughborough University, UK. He holds a master’s degree in project management for international development and humanitarian aid from the Social Change School in Spain and a BSc in Civil Engineering from Makerere University, Uganda.
