Irene Atieno

As one of Aquaya’s Junior Data Editors, Irene focuses on collecting, organizing, and analyzing information about international water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) related data and contributing generally to Project W. She contributes to the development of the Project W data platform while supporting the creation of methods to enhance the collected data.

Before Joining Aquaya, Irene volunteered with the Kenya Red Cross Society, a humanitarian agency that focuses on elevating human suffering and saving lives. She focused on empowering and sensitizing the community in urban slums in Nairobi. She participated in projects on Community-Led Total Sanitation, WASH beneficiary data entry, community education and outreach training, and coordinating blood drives.

Irene holds a Bachelor of Science in Population Health from Kenyatta University and a Certificate in Leadership and Project Management.
